Interactive Volumetric Experience

The installation:
The experience was integrated into the Dragon Pulse volumetric LED display using TouchDesigner to translate the animated 3D character into a three-dimensional light composition. Through technical testing, visual adjustments, and on-site monitoring, the team ensured the character performed as intended within the physical installation.
THE Result:
The final installation brought Manchas into an unconventional display format, transforming Alpura’s mascot into a luminous, animated presence. By combining 3D animation, real-time visual technology, and volumetric display, the project created a memorable brand experience that brought design and technology together to connect with audiences in a new way
OVERVIEW
Developed for Alpura in collaboration with TKL Experience, this project brought the brand’s iconic mascot, Manchas, to life through a LED array called “Dragon Pulse”, a volumetric LED display. By combining 3D animation and real-time visual technology, TAIMA transformed a familiar character into an interactive experience designed to connect with audiences in an unconventional format.
The process
The process began with the 3D modeling, texturing, and animation of Manchas, based on Alpura’s existing mascot. The character’s proportions, textures, and movements were adapted to work within the volumetric display, enhancing its shapes and gestures to translate effectively into a three-dimensional field of light. Using TouchDesigner, the 3D content was mapped and processed to match the display’s unique structure.
