Taima Studio x El Palacio de Hierro - Selfie Experience
Virtual Reality Experience
THE CROSSING

The installation
For “The Crossing,” we made use of dedicated installations provided by El Palacio de Hierro, all designed and inspired by Asian culture.

The artists
To bring the scene to life we collaborated with a group of visual artists we admire, @artsykars, @anotheryeahday, @tiguila.art, @meliiiscz, and @beabenedetti_art, who created original characters and motifs inspired by Japanese pop culture. Their contributions animated the space, turning a panoramic scene into an inhabited, expressive world.

Result
The final experience blends photorealism, 3D elements and motion design to deliver a narrative-driven, sensory journey. “THE CROSSING” invited visitors to explore and feel Tokyo’s urban energy while demonstrating Taima Studio’s strengths in AR/VR, motion graphics, 3D and illustration , a seamless intersection of technology, storytelling and visual craft.

Overview:
A couple of months ago Taima Studio partnered with El Palacio de Hierro and HM Selfie Experience to produce “THE CROSSING”, an immersive virtual reality installation that transports participants to one of Tokyo’s most iconic locations: Shibuya Crossing. By combining hundreds of on-site photographs, Google Maps references, careful image editing and custom programming, we constructed a living, collage-like environment that fuses documentary detail with stylized visual layers.
