A Symphonic Visual Journey.
EL PALACIO VA AL CINE
Overview
Taima Studio led the visual strategy and art direction for "El Palacio va al Cine," a high-end cultural experience by El Palacio de Hierro that merges fashion, cinema, and live music. In collaboration with TKL Experience, the studio designed the visual content for a symphonic concert at El Cantoral performing the legendary scores of John Williams.
The objective was to unify 21 distinct films under a cohesive, painterly aesthetic that moved away from literal movie clips, elevating the cinematic footage into a sophisticated, nostalgic, and artistic visual narrative that matched the premium standards of El Palacio de Hierro.

The process:
The primary challenge was establishing a single visual identity for a diverse roster of 21 films, ranging from epic adventures to intimate dramas. Taima developed a sophisticated, pictorial language that prioritized texture and light over standard cinematic representation. This artistic direction transformed traditional footage into evocative, living artworks that complemented the live orchestral performance.
To achieve a consistent painterly texture across all content, Taima engineered a specialized post-processing pipeline using TouchDesigner. The studio developed a custom watercolor effect that processed the cinematic footage in real time during production, morphing standard video frames into fluid, multi-dimensional digital paintings with a hand-crafted feel.
The studio executed a rigorous creative compositing process for each film. By utilizing precise blending modes, layering, and custom edits, the team created a deep, textured look across the entire visual lineup. Taima maintained strict frame-by-frame supervision throughout the production to ensure the watercolor aesthetic remained flawlessly consistent, safeguarding the visual flow and timing during the live symphonic show.

Result:
The final production was a seamless sensory experience where live music and high-end digital art merged into a single narrative. By applying a rigorous and sophisticated painterly language to iconic pieces of cinema history, Taima Studio transformed a live concert into an immersive digital gallery. The project stands as a testament to the studio's capacity to deliver high-level art direction and technical execution for high-prestige cultural events.
